On Friday night ART held it’s second annual Quiz Night. Around 60 people descended on Ayr Rugby club to engage in a battle of wits and general knowledge and help raise some funds for Trust.

14 teams entered the competition which was chaired by quiz master Wallace Milligan. There was 6 rounds of 10 questions and the winning team was led by none other than ART trustee Pat Hunter Blair with a winning score of 101 points. The booby prize went to one of our staff teams but we were just giving everyone else a chance to be honest.

We also had a raffle on the night which raised £195 with some excellent prizes on offer including the usual booze and chocolates. A big thanks to all who donated prizes but a special thanks must go to David Ballingall who donated an estimated £200 worth of expertly tied salmon flies. David is a member of the committee at Kilmaurs Angling Club and one of the finest fly dressers in Scotland. He is also an active volunteer with ART and now co runs www.taysalmonfly.biz David gave us permission to split the flies into two lots for the raffle and keep a few back for another day so look out for these appearing in future raffles/auctions

The total amount raised on the evening was £393.50 so a huge thanks to all who attended, your support is greatly valued and we hope to see you all again next year.

We would also like to thank Wallace Milligan and his wife for their efforts in their quiz master roles as without them we couldn’t have done it. And thanks to Robin Wilson and his wife Anne for all their help both in the run up to the event and for their help on the evening. We must also thank Colin and Ayr Rugby Club for helping us stage the event.
