Carrick Invasives Project Officer
Ayrshire Rivers Trust is an independent charity, working throughout Ayrshire to improve the sustainable management and conservation of freshwater fisheries through research, education and habitat management.
The trust currently requires a Carrick Invasives Project Officer, to promote the sustainable control of invasive non-native species within the Carrick area. Included within the project area will be both Girvan and Stinchar catchments and coastal burns surrounding the area. Key roles include engaging and managing volunteers within the communities, awareness raising and control of the invasive non-native species.
The ideal candidate will hold a good degree in an environment or science discipline, with additional relevant work experience. They will be physically fit, as they will be lifting heavy equipment. Good written and oral skills are essential, and experience managing volunteers would be an advantage. This position is for a 2 year full-time contract, beginning in April with a starting salary of £19,000.00 with a 6% pension contribution.
