Although there hasn’t been much to report recently, that doesn’t mean things have ground to a halt. Yesterday the contractors poured a huge mortar slab which was setting up nicely today. The base to the fish pass extension was poured last week and today, the shuttering and reinforcing has been erected and tomorrow morning, the walls will be cast in place. By end of play tomorrow, the fish pass will have the flow restored and things are virtually complete (from a fishery perspective).
The contractors have been incredibly lucky with the weather and they know it but I’m relieved. This entire job could have been a disaster had we had a wet summer.
With low flow through Anderson’s, there were a few youngster from the village making the most of the new deepened pool.
