If you are a recent graduate and are looking to gain work experience working with rivers then we are offering a 6 month paid placement between April and September.
Through the placement we are offering the opportunity to gain experience of fisheries management which includes a huge variety of potential work including; Invasive Non Native Plant (INNP) control, smolt trapping, fish and invertebrate surveys, fish rescues, habitat surveys, tree planting and a range of green engineering works.

Rescuing fish from a reservoir prior to the site being dewatered. The Trust is involved with huge variety of work across Ayrshire.

In 2022 we were involved with a similar placement that saw Ian Jackson join the team for 3 months; we created a video of his time and experience (click on the thumbnail below) which is available to view below. The Trust was very pleased to be able to retain Ian’s services following the end of his placement.
ART employ staff with a range of academic training including biology, environmental/countryside management and geology. We welcome candidates from a range of academic backgrounds.
