We are heading to Ireland tomorrow to attend the CIRB conference on Invasive Weeds and their control.
Alongside Gillian and myself, will be Gordon and Meryl, our two Invasive Weeds Project Officers and Alba Bonas Piella, our Catalan intern that worked with the Trust last summer. Alba has been invited to speak at the conference to enlighten the delegates on our research into native plant recovery and the peculiarities of Giant Hogweed seed banks and root development.
ART are the only partners to have undertaken any research into native riparian plant recovery (so I believe), hence the interest in our results. We will also be delivering a workshop on control methods and techniques but focussing mainly on stem injection.
The forecast is good for the morning so we should have a nice crossing although it’s an early start for us as we leave at 5.00am.
Finally the day has come! Best regards for all!!
