Amazingly the Girvan catchment missed the rain today and the river remained low. Work on the upper fish pass has been progressing well, the side baulks are complete and water is flowing down the pass.

The crest level to the left of the fish pass needs to be brought up to the general crest level so one more day of low river levels will see the upper fish pass complete.

There was a good depth of water down the fish pass and it looked passable at that flow, unlike the lower weir where the flow was of uniform depth across the weir;  too shallow for anything larger than a small trout to get over.
