Ayrshire Rivers Trust in conjunction with SRUC Advisory Service have produced a video to promote green engineering techniques through the Garnock Connections Project.
ART has funding available for landowners in the Garnock Catchment who wish to stabilise eroding river banks using these and similar techniques.
For more information, contact either ART or SRUC at the addresses provided in this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yc5ZvPTwm9E
Severe erosion on the swallow hole on the kilwinning stretch of the garnock. But the landowner isn’t keen on resolving the issue seems quite happy for the bank to just keep eroding. Surely there is a way for her to have no option? Im sure you might be aware of the banking i have mentioned.
i am aware and there’s little anyone can do to force a landonwer to prevent erosion unless it is livestock driven in which case SEPA has the power to instruct a reduction in livestock numbers to reduce the pressure or removal of livestock entirely until recovery has taken place.
