Candidates should be able to demonstrate an interest in the environment and be enthusiastic about working both outdoors in all weathers and in an office environment as required. Ideally, they should possess computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications. The role will be to assist the biologists to deliver electrofishing and habitat surveys, assist with green engineering and habitat management projects. All necessary training will be provided. Personal Protective Equipment will be provided.
Essentially, the successful candidate will be able to contribute in all aspects of our work. Most of our activities are delivered on river banks, over rough terrain or in water. Confidence when working in and around water would be advantageous. This position may suit students, graduates or those hoping to work in environmental disciplines but lacking in experience. Excellent time keeping will be expected. A full clean driving license may be beneficial.
This is a part-time position based on 3 working days per week (Monday to Friday). Occasionally, weekend working may be offered additional to the 3 week days. The post will be available from July to the end of September and candidates should be available to start work in the week commencing 12th July. Working hours are 37.5 per week pro rata. 31 days annual leave will be paid pro rata. Salary will be commensurate with experience and paid monthly in arrears.
