ART has funding available to train volunteers to industry standards in the safe use of plant protection products (weed killers and pesticides to you and me). This training is funded under the INTERREG IVA project that we are delivering aimed at controlling Giant Hogweed and Japanese Knotweed on affected rivers and burns in Ayrshire.
We are running a training course on the 8th, 9th and 10th of March 2011 at the Scottish Agricultural College, Auchincruive. Places are limited so anyone wishing to find out more should contact Stuart at the Trust asap. Basic numeracy skills are required to complete the course and a willingness to undertake a small amount of effort in controlling weeds on a local river in years to come will be the only committment necessary. All training costs will be met by ART.
We will run training courses each year so if you can’t make this one, put your name down for next year!

I have my PA6 but interested in PA6W
I work in the forestry industry so outdoors and close to waterways so could do my part
Kenneth,
thanks for your interest but the course is now full unfortunately.
If you send and email to stuart@arshireriverstrust.org with contact details and the area you are from, I’ll let you know when we are next running the course.
Thanks
Stuart
